On the Asphalt Road
Rain pours down on the asphalt road
Strikes my burdened shoulders like a heavy load
Waters is cold as it hits my face
How I long for the feel of your warm embrace
Another day has gone and passed my way
Rain or shine to the heavens I always pray
That someday somehow we’ll meet again
If Fate is to bring us back in the end
I used to say “I like you” before
But now I know that it’s so much more
The “liking you” part was just a phase
Now I’ll never survive without your embrace
Coz when I’m without you, I don’t know what I’d do
It feels like heaven when I’m close to you
Your beautiful face coupled with that warm smile
Makes everything seem perfect and so worthwhile
How I wish that again we’ll be together
I would want it a lifetime if not forever
I’ll wait for you down that asphalt road in summer
If you say ‘Yes’ and be my wife, my lover
